A public art exhibition created by Blau which utilised regeneration building site hoardings in the Lisson Grove area of London where she lives. Her large-scale photographic portraits featured local people who will be affected by the huge transformations taking place in their neighbourhood. Emma’s latest project RightToShoes celebrates modern shoe-making artistry against the backdrop of her own life experiences and cultural history of the last two decades. Documentary by Back2Back Productions exploring the remarkable life and reign of Queen Elizabeth II through the history of her iconic image and wardrobe. An exhibition of photographs by Jarret Schecter in St Pancras station, of landscapes and people taken through the windows of different train journeys around the world. It was held to coincide with the 10th anniversary of The Denan Project. Drawing on an unparalleled collection of photographs in the Camera Press archives by some of the most iconic names in the photographic industry, I curated this unique exhibition of images from the past eight decades which offered a fascinating insight into photography from the 1940s to the present day. I presented an in-depth lecture on what it takes to create and build a photographic identity. Exhibition and book project by photographer and filmmaker Chris Floyd where he photographed 140 people he had met on Twitter. I authored the introductory essay “Who is the Queen? The Role of Photography in Defining a Monarch” Following publication in the Sunday Times Magazine, my portrait of Tina Brown was acquired by The National Portrait Gallery, London for their permanent collection. I photographed Felix and Simon for the release of their seventh studio album, Junto. Photographer Tom Odlham and I appear on Al Jezzera television discussing the exhibition I curated, ‘Camera Press at 70 ‘. Curated and hosted by award-winning writer and photography consultant Cheryl Newman, myself and fellow panelists explored the role of women in photography across fashion, editorial and documentary photography. Following on from a photographic project I had carried out in the UK on London shoe designers, I embarked on a series of portraits and interviews with NYC- based shoe designers producing remarkable, inspiring work who were part of a new wave of female designers in the city. “This channel of expression from the autistic world is a simple, brilliant idea of Emma’s. The chance to capture life in one unchanging, vibrant moment is a bridge between two worlds often further apart than planets.” Danny Boyle To commemorate the 50th anniversary of JFK’s death, I curated an exhibition of Jacques Lowe’s intimate photographs of the Kennedy family, launched in conjunction with the publication of ‘My Kennedy Years : A Memoir’ by Thames & Hudson. Following my writing a piece for the Guardian on issues surrounding censorship on Instagram, I was invited to appear on France 24 Television News to discuss the implications of such censorship for the arts.
